In this portrait of an American marriage, Frank and April Wheeler seem to be a perfect couple but struggle behind closed doors with their personal demons. Determined not to become victims of the homogeneous suburbs of the 50s, the two make the decision to move to Paris, but this change forces the cracks that had already formed to be fully realized.
