Robert Preston made his musical debut--both live and on film—in the role he was born to play: "Professor" Harold Hill, the upbeat charlatan who promises to teach a small-town boys band by the "think system." Composer Meredith Willson’s memorable songs include "Gary, Indiana", "Goodnight My Someone", "Till There Was You", "Trouble," and "76 Trombones". With Shirley Jones, Buddy Hackett and Ron Howard.
