The beleaguered denizens of a Mexican village, weary of attacks by a gang of banditos, hire seven gunslingers to repel the invaders once and for all. The leader of the Seven is Chris (Yul Brynner); the gunmen he gathers are played by actors just on the cusp of stardom: Vin (Steve McQueen), Britt (James Coburn), Bernardo (Charles Bronson), Lee (Robert Vaughn). The storytelling is clear and strong, and the charisma of the young guns fairly flies off the screen. Also featuring the unforgettable music of Elmer Bernstein. With Eli Wallach and Horst Buchholz.
