Quick Flicks for the week of 12/23/07




Eddie is a confirmed bachelor who is forty and owns a sporting-goods store. After watching his ex-fiancé walk down the aisle, he meets Lila who is an environmental researcher. Lila seems too good to be true. Pressured by his father and best friend, Eddie pops the question and marries Lila after only 6 weeks. He almost immediately discovers that his new bride is a nightmare with more baggage than he can handle. She's immature and foolish, a monster in bed and owes a large sums of money to various sources. As it turns out, Lila is only a volunteer and doesn't actually have a job. While on their honeymoon in Cabo, Eddie meets Miranda, a down-to-earth lacrosse coach who is visiting with her family. Sparks fly between Eddie and Miranda. Now he needs to break off his marriage, all while trying to keep the truth from Miranda about why he's in Cabo in the first place.

She goes to his headquarters to meet him again and gain his trust, and soon they fall in love.She joins his office as a spy, but when someone within the resistance betrays her, she is now seen as an enemy betraying both sides. All that's left to do is run with the man she learned to love and find a way to prove her innocence by finding the real betrayer.

Disguised as the boy Ganymede, Rosalind enters the forest of Arden. Upon their arrival in the forest, they happen upon Orlando and his manservant, who are fleeing the wrath of Orlando's eldest brother. What follows is an elaborate scheme devised by the cross-dressing Rosalind to find out the verity of Orlando's supposed passion for her, and to further capture his heart, through the witty and mischievous façade of Ganymede.

Begins powerfully with the Sioux triumph over General Custer at Little Big Horn and goes on to center around three powerful men. Charles Eastman is a young, Dartmouth-educated Sioux doctor. Sitting Bull is the proud Lakota chief who refuses to submit to U.S. government policies designed to strip his people of thier identity, dignity and sacred land. Senator Henry Dawes is one of the men responsible for the government policy on Indian affairs. While Eastman and schoolteacher Elaine Goodale work to imporve live for the Sioux on the reservation, Senator Dawes lobbies President Grant for kinder Indian treatment.
